Romanian children experience police life on Children's Day
    English.news.cn 2015-06-02 10:57:01
The Romanian Interior Ministry on Monday provided children on holiday with a special festive atmosphere in and out of the ministry headquarters.

Over 2,000 children and their parents watched demonstration exercises, as well as vehicles and specific means of intervention of policemen and gendarmes.

Children enjoyed many surprises on the open day of the Interior Ministry, as mountain gendarmes conducted rappelling from the high building of the minister in the center of Bucharest, while border guards taught a group of children self-defense techniques.

Rescuers explained first-aid knowledge to the children and police academy students shared their experiences with teenagers aspiring to become police when they grow up.

Spokesperson of the ministry Monica Dajbog told Xinhua that interaction between children and police is one of the important programs of the open day of the Interior Ministry.

Interior Minister Gabriel Oprea also awarded a "hero diploma" to a 12-year-old boy, who saved his little brother from a fire that engulfed their house a month ago.
